Plot
Need a lawyer? He runs his law firm out of his Lincoln and is ready to do his job. He moves around Los Angeles taking on cases while also juggling his personal life, which includes being a father and having two ex-wives.

Originally slated with CBS for a series commitment in 2020, the series was canceled due to COVID shortly before the first episode began filming. Now, it has been picked up by Netflix for a 10-episode first season based on Mickey Haller’s second book, The Brass Verdict. California vanity plates allow a maximum of seven letters/numbers, but all Mickey plates have at least eight.

The Lincoln Lawyer was actually better than I expected. I never read the books it was based on, but I did see the Matthew McConaughey movie and thought it was really good, but it wasn’t worth making into a series. I really expected it to be a low-budget rip-off.
I couldn’t be more wrong
I actually liked it more than the movie. I wasn’t going to watch it until I saw all the great reviews and realized it was one of the most watched series of the year for Netflix. Manuel Garcia-Rulfo does a good job as the protagonist, and Becky Newton, Neve Campbell, Angus Sampson, and others all do a fantastic job in the supporting roles.
While it’s not the best legal series you’ll see, it’s definitely worth watching
