The short story is only 5 pages long, which is why the "story" is told to us in a way that feels like a joke told by a person with a speech impediment. This is dead boring and some people ran away from the movie after the first half hour and I wish I had followed their lead.
Between the story set in 1917 and shot in black and white, we get a lot of modern color stuff
Yes, the camerawork is great and so is the editing, so I give it a four instead of a two.
