Plot
On an island of haves and have-nots, teen John B. recruits his three best friends to search for a legendary treasure related to his father’s disappearance. Chase Stokes, Madeline Klein, and their "OBX" co-stars question each other on the best lines from their hit Netflix series. It was originally set to be filmed in Wilmington, North Carolina.
He doesn’t look remotely like a 16-year-old
I love this show, but it can be very frustrating to watch at times. The acting is decent, but as many others have already pointed out, the acting is a bit ridiculous. The lead actor, who plays a 16-year-old, is almost 30 years old. All the actors who are teenagers are way too old for the roles they play, which ruins my immersion a bit.
But that’s not the main issue
Is it really that hard to find decent actors who at least look their age in the part they’re playing? The high-level story is good, but the narration is where this show falls apart. All the drama and tension is created by the characters doing stupid things. The stupidity ranges from mild to incredibly dense, but it’s always what drives the drama.
And teenagers aren’t the only ones who are stupid
It’s hard to find characters who are likable when they consistently do stupid things and never learn or grow. No cops follow procedure, because if they did, the story wouldn’t happen. When a character does something brilliantly, it has to be ruined by someone doing something incredibly stupid, because again, then the story wouldn’t happen. I wish the writers would spend a little more time coming up with different ways to push the story forward by having the antagonists be smart rather than the heroes be stupid.

I’ve just finished season 2, and I don’t regret watching it. It’s adequate, but it could have been better.. A new season of "Silo" is one of the biggest TV and streaming premieres this month.
